“Through selfless service, you will always be fruitful and find the fulfilment of your desires” ― Bhagavad Gita

The International Yoga Day aims to highlight the benefits of yoga throughout the globe.

In Sanskrit, the term Yoga means “Union”, according to experts, yoga is the union of soul, mind and body. Contrary to what many people think, yoga is not just a discipline based on postures or breathing exercises, but it is a practice that involves a mental and spiritual aspect too. Therefor a regular practice connects us with meditation, conscious breathing, healthy eating and positive thinking. Through this vision we can glimpse the purpose of our individual and collective life, and thus experience a state of calm and compassion in our day to day.

Why International Yoga Day Is Celebrated On 21 June?

Grisham Sankranthi is on June 21. On this day the Sun begins to move from north to south in the context of the earth. By the 21st of June, the sun moves in front of the Northern Hemisphere. After 21st June it starts moving towards the Southern Hemisphere. From the viewpoint of yoga, it is a time of transformation period. This time is considered to be a better time for conversion. That is why International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June.

From Temple Bar Yoga Dublin, we want to invite you to be part of this worldwide celebration to promote peace, health, consciousness and the transcendental experience of Yoga. We are gathering together to carry out different activities along the day to transmit the value of the Yoga System and its aims to bring peace to all human beings.

Join us in our second year hosting this unique annual celebration of the summer solstice and the mindful practice of yoga!
